Hello my name is Karen and I am a fortunate enough to be a stay at home mum to two beautiful daughters and three Weimarnaners. I have been blessed with a gift for making primitve and country decor, a gift I never knew I had and I have been hand making all manner of primitives for a few years now.

I first started making primitives for myself and after family and friends had visited and seen my work they too wanted primitive items for their own homes. And so began my journey into the wonderful world of primmin and Gingerbread Cottage, set in the heart of the Derbyshire Countryside, was created. I take a great deal of pride in my work and receive emmense pleasure from knowing customers appreciate the labour of love that goes into making every Gingerbread Cottage Primitive Treasure.

I have a number of people I would like to thank for their help and support. My Husband who built me a work room away from the hustle and bustle of family life. Shana, (a primitive gift for her), for introducing me to the fabulous world of prims. Donna, (moonchilds primitives), for all off her advice, help and praise. My offspring for putting up with me forever having scissors and needle and thread in hand, Maggie (saltbox primitives) for always encouraging me at times when I need it the most, Deb Graham at the Ragged Fence for wanting me to go and work with her and finally my mum for believing in me! THANKYOU ALL and lots of love to you all!

I would just like to add that I have made some fantastic new friends during my journey into the Prim World, most in the US except for Maggie who is in Ireland. All of these fabulously talented artists have been very supportive, and we have all openly shared and exchanged ideas, I think it is great when a bunch of people all sharing a common interest can pass on knowledge to each other! The world of true Handmade Primtives is a lovely one!
